If I started my freelance career tomorrow…

Here are the things I’d focus on if I was just starting out as a freelancer:

1 - CREATE SYSTEMS

Put in the time to create systems that will save you time + money in the long run. Some examples of this…

create an invoice template

create a contract template

create a budgeting template / make plan for where $ will be allocated

document your processes from beginning so you can refer back for future clients

2 - PUT YOURSELF OUT THERE

Get your name out there / let people know what you are doing...people won't hire you if they don't know HOW to! Some examples…

let friends / family know what you’re doing

post on social media (instead of promoting, try posting bts of your current work and let them SEE what you’re doing)

email companies you’d want to work with

3 - DECIDE WHO YOU WILL CONSULT WITH

Decide who is going to be on your "board" i.e. the people whose opinions about your business actually matter. Don't process the ins and outs with your business with all of your friends and family. Have a few core people that you trust and can process with. Too many voices will overwhelm you.

4 - MENTAL REMINDERS

“I can trust the process.”

“I am doing a hard thing and it’s okay to be stressed or fearful.”

“I can trust myself and my decisions.”

“I get to set the pace and tone of my business. I will be intentional with this.”

P.S. If you are just starting out and want one on one coaching (1-3hr package options), reach out!
